Can I use a Square D Circuit Breaker in a GE panel?
I want to add a new circuit in my 200 amp GE panel, for exterior use only, and can not find a GE circuit breaker, but I do have a Square D breaker of the correct size. Some people tell me that you must use a breaker that is specific for the panel. Is using different, non specific, breakers allowable or accesptable?
You must use breakers listed for your panel.
Using non listed breakers will violate the code, and the listings for the the breaker and panel, and render your insurance null and void, if something happens.
